^ +++ Earlier in the day they didn't have to include fancy lifestyle stuff like iPod or Wii to attract viewers. If they'd just handle it like South Park (the episode cartman waits for the Wii launch, it was hilarious!) and add a little touch of parody to the whole thing. But just like the "Mapple" or World of Warcraft episodes, this one seems to turn out just as boring and unsurprising. The humor is just way too tame, and by that I don't mean they should make the Simpsons puke and curse more.
Did they really just took a popular thing and changed one letter in it's name? That's all? Where's the satire, the joke? Man, The simpsons used to stand for spot on satire of pop culture. I guess they're only good to be material for satire now.
They should just stop making new Simpsons episodes. What i hate more is that Fox channel (here in Brazil) only does re-runs of episodes from seasons 10 and after. While there are some good episodes on season 10 to 14, i want to see the great old classics!
Rather than a joke it seems like a lame product placement - I haven't seen much of the new series, but mainly because I lost interest in The Simpsons a long time ago. It's nowhere near as good as it was and I prefer Futurama tbh.
Yeah... Futurama I can watch over and over. I'm constantly rewatching the seasons ever couple of months.
I remember, in the golden age, when they talked about video games, it was to satirize all that discourse about violent games targeted at children, and they made some interesting things with it (who doesn't remember Bloodstorm II?). Someone should really just send a video comparison of that old episode with the Zii thing to the writers.
