I think it would be pretty narowminded not to consider Electronic Arts as a major player for a console, with it's recent aqusition of Criterion,it is now bigger than nearly all the third parties put together and nearly every title they put out is a guarenteed multi million seller. If EA were to release there own console and make their own games exclusive it would pass the three million mark almost overnight.

You have to think about EA entering the console busines sometime.

EA is in a confortable position right now , they are developing for each three consoles and gaining alot of cash.

i couldn't understand why they would move to their own console making games only for one platform .... this is just not EA.
And they would have to conquer a public too, but at this moment they have the oportunity to have everyone that own a game cube and/or a ps2 and/or a xbox....

why would they changet to a smaller target when they can hit everyone with the one they have right now?

i think the next comagny to enter the war will be snk or sega, or maybe a mix? i hope so, they could gain something from each other and be stronger than ever. :smt045 a console that still make 2d games as well as 3d ones , a console with sonic and metal slug , a console....,.... Woah! :-D

Sorry, just mad at EA becasue they refuse to put out Tiberium Sun 3. They took the coolest RTS series there is and cancelled it.

    Bastards.

Sega, Hitatchi & Victor all did versions of the saturn.

Perhaps in the future we can see a collaboration, but instead of the 3 companies making their own variant of the console , they could make a consolidated version 'next gen' console.

BTW I hate the term next gen. Current gen consoles are still referred to as next gen, it's just stuuupid :smt022

I have been giving this some thought during driving lately and came up with 2 companies... one was Philips (they're pretty big, international and have a broad spectrum of electronics product lines) and um... I forgot the other one :drinkers:

Maybe bandai and apple might do well.

All the processors in the new consoles are mac processors anyway.

i think the gba connectivety with wind waker is kinda neat, but you get tired of it after a little while.

i have played some of the "gimmicky" games, which include zelda 4 sword for gba. you need a friend or 2 to play a special dungeon+ they need gbas and the game. and Alien workshop would probably be the only interested one to play it with me but he lives about 15 miles away. :angry the other people make fun of me for liking video games and there is another guy i MAYBE could play it with, but co-op anything with him is more frustrating than fun.
So, i cant beat the optional dungeon, which REALLY pisses me off.

as for online games, the only two i want are halo 2 and ffxi.
if gamecube went online, it would be a pokemon thing...for the most part. timesplitters would be great too. those bots are "perfect"...
i would also love a "tales of symphonia online" but alas it doesnt exist.

I think all 3 systems might do okay. i wasnt sure about xbox, but they have LOADS of money to back it up. besides, competition is good. if we have 1 system company dominating the market, it would be a monopoly and the games would be shitty plus the games would also be more expensive. (maybe)

if something does come back i would say sega. all that money from software could fund their hardware!

    thats my two cents...

    btw-that "friend" wasnt me...
