    Future of PS4?
What about titles that only come out on PS4 and PC? Will that make it non-PS4 exclusive now? Will gamers buy the PC versions instead of the PS4 versions? Will any of this Windows 10 gaming hurt PS4 game sales?

We'll revisit this question when Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank are ported to PC. Ironically the reason Street Fighter V is only on PC and PS4 is because of Cross play, which now Microsoft seems to want to let XBONE players have.

On a different forum, someone mentioned that on the XBox One, you have to be online to play some offline games, such as Saint's Row IV. I thought Microsoft had abandoned that DRM?

I bought a PS4 instead of an XBox One, even though for the past two generations I've preferred that generation's XBox to it's Playstation counterpart, and the reason I did that was because I was afraid that the XBox One's DRM would become too intrusive (that and I didn't like Microsoft's then focus on the Kinnect, as I hate motion control). What is the current state of XBox One's DRM and must-be-online 'security'?

And I too hate the way this gen. and last gen. consoles come with mandatory OS patches/revisions, and the games need downloadable patches. I really miss the days when you'd just turn on a console and play.

You can set your Xbox to offline mode and play anything you want offline. But shit, the whole world including your toaster today is online 24/7.

Yeah that's why I initially did not buy an XBONE because of the DRM Bullshit and also because alot of a 3rd party games were skipping the 360 and going right to PS3 even if they had a Japanese multiplat release.
From what I hear if you buy a game digitally on XBONE you need to be online to play it. Disc games, I think it varies, I need actually have an XBONE to tell you that.

For me, the XBOX felt like it was the Sega console after the Dreamcast, that's why I got an original XBOX, that's why I stuck with the 360 in the early years. But as the XBOX got it's own identity I wasn't liking the direction it was going in. When the XBONE was announced, the DRM turned me off, but KI piqued my interest. But nothing else. Now it's nearing my 10 game requirement to get a new console. I'm more willing to over look Microsoft's bullshit than Nintendo's because Microsoft has always been good to me on the Customer service side of things.

IF I get an XBONE, I'll be rocking Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive right away. Maybe Import Raiden V, even though something seems off about Raiden V from what I've seen. I also just found out Ikaruga is on the BC list.

From what I have seen, yes, a lot of developers target the PS4 and branch out from there.

Related to that, I saw that they recently announced the release date for No Man's Sky (June 21) and that it'll be released simultaneously on PS4 and PC.

I pretty much just buy consoles for the exclusives and that is it. So this doesn't really bother me at all. If anything were to bother me though about Xbox One/PS4 exclusives coming to PC and cross-platform is if I couldn't use a mouse and keyboard on my Xbox One/PS4 when playing a muliplayer game against a PC user. So as long as the playing field is fair online, that is really all I would care about. That is if console exclusives started releasing on PC later. I don't think it would kill consoles either if that happens because the number of people in this world that cannot figure out the simplest thing on a PC is outrageous.

Ahhh! Excite. I've been really looking forward to this game. Now to decide between the PS4 and the PC version. I'm leaning towards the latter...

And it's great if you have a reliable, always ready connection. But parts of the world don't have this, even some part of the USA. Plus some connections have limited usage per month.

The XBOX fanbase doesn't help their case either.

TRY to sit through a Crapgamer, Dealer, Blacky Lebowski or Wrath video without cringing.

From a reddit post that seemed to be on topic of "Future of Xbox"

GDC microsoft sheudle [intended for developers] (self.xboxone)
submitted an hour ago * by Magicihan
This are the major Microsoft conferences at GDC 2016, they are not intended for customers at all. Also keep in mind there are a lot more conferences at GDC with Microsoft employees for games like Halo and so on, which are not linked here.
Some conferences (not all of them) will be uploaded on Microsofts Channel 9, again they are partly very complicated and not intended for customers, but i know some of you gyus are interested to watch them too.

The social aspect is a big deal for me. Halo wouldn't be the same without the friends I play with.

I've only just recently built a gaming PC and I've been enjoying that quite a bit.

How about possibly playing with even more friends? Maybe someday with Steam and PS+ users in the same game?

    http://www.rocketleaguegame.com/news/2016/03/xbox-one-cross-network-play/

Expect to see Rocket League cross-network play working on Xbox One and PC later this spring, with information regarding other platforms coming soon.

    http://news.xbox.com/2016/03/14/letter-chris-charla-idxbox-updates-gdc/

    Cross-Network Play
First, in addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we’re enabling developers to support cross-network play as well. This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks – including other console and PC networks.

Of course, it’s up to game developers to support this feature, and Xbox Live players will always have the option of choosing to play only with other Xbox Live players. We’re thrilled to confirm that Psyonix’s Rocket League will be one of the first games to take advantage of this new capability by enabling cross-network play between Xbox One and PC players, with an open invitation for other networks to participate as well.

There will never be Cross platform play between Playstation an XBOX. No Matter how friendly Phil Spencer is with everyone that isn't a mentally deficient fantard.

Edit: Well no sooner than I post that...........

Cross play comes to Rocket League.

Has a console CPU/GPU/RAM upgrade ever succeeded? I remember the Saturn RAM cart was a mild success.

There are many parts of the world without quality Internet. I have a PS3 gifted to me by a friend. I won't get around to playing it anytime soon so I am sending it to someone (out of the country.) But the recipient has asked me to load updates for all 11 games before sending. When I sent them a 360, they couldn't update half the games, their faux DSL Internet is so bad. (They actually had a friend take it to university and use the computer lab to download updates. Extreme hassle because they needed a screen, too, and had to make sure security wasn't coming around.)
