I currently have a hardware BC launch PS3 with version 3.15 firmware on it. Should I bother preserving it as is for posterity as a PS3 the way it was intended to be? Looking for peoples thought...
I would say it's a money loser. by the time a nib ps3 is worth anything decent, most of us will be dead.
Aren't there ways of reflashing it to a lower fw now? If not then there almost certainly will be sooner or later.
Well that swung me. Off I go to upgrade to 3.60.... I'll keep my other PS3 at 3.50 for the potential to downgrade later. Thanks for the input.
Got a 60G PS2 B/C PS3 that's still on 3.15 too. Likely I'll eventually end up updating to latest FW for some multiplayer fun. OtherOS is nice (very nice IMO) but afterall, the OtherOS mode is just too limited to smoothly run Linux and the PS3 burns around 220W wich is also too much IMO for such a "limited" Linux machine.... I'll just keep taking much care of my DECHA, always can run OtherOS on that, it just must not die on me....
