Gaijin, iPhone and Osaka

    I was on the pre-paid traveler sim so using the phone itself was no problem at all. And the rate was far cheaper than roaming.
    For example if I called Australia from Osaka the rate was 55 cents per minute. I believe if I was on roaming it'd be something its 75 cents per 30 seconds plus the flag fall fee for the first 30 seconds!

    My main issue was getting the data access on my iPhone and as mentioned for someone who was staying for 10 days those pre-paid sim with data packet were too expensive option to consider.

    This is not true. I have 3G turned off on my 3GS and it works great on 2G. It's not super fast, but it is not slow either.

    EDIT: I'm not talking about travelSIM though, natch.
