No loss... to be honest - I'm more annoyed that GameTraders is pretty much gone bar 1 store here in WA. Sucks major balls. eb, JB Hi-Fi or eBay were my stores to hit up for PS3 games/this generation gaming items. Loved GameTraders for all the old school stuff but I don't think I walked into a Game store more than twice...
GAME near me had rude staff, who wouldn't bother to help you unless you had money in your hand... So I'm glad those people lost their store... Not sure about the other GAME stores around Australia though...
I hope Gametraders stays around for a long long time ! as you cant get many of the games in other game stores and as for game i had a membership their since 2003 <.< i slowed down going there after 2009 when i made a ebay account on my first computer lol must of brought close to 100 games from GAME over the years mostly DS,Ps2 ,PSP ,Xbox ,Xbox 360 wii gamecube and some ps1 games before they was phased out
I went to the local GAME (maybe for the 4th time since they were there?) for the 60% sale. Most of the good stuff was gone (oh rly) by the time I got there Thursday. Picked up 2 pre-owned XBOX360 games (Chronicles of Riddick-missing the manual, which I didn't know until I got home and Resident Evil 5) and 1 new PS3 game Silent Hill Downpour. I am thinking of going back to have another quick look tomorrow. I think they did it tough as JB hi-fi was 2 shops down. They have Kinnects for $38 but not sure if they are worth getting? Also Game Traders are doing it tough to, the local one shut down a few weeks ago and the one I do repair/mod work for is struggling too.
hmm not good i hope gametraders sticks it out with game gone their business should be better soon ! kinects are worth 38 bucks most second hand places sell em for 70 or 80 i got mine for 58 second hand so if its 38 new boxed consider it a true bargain
A shame for all the staff, but it was a pretty horrible store in general. I get most of my games at jb hifi these days, or order online plenty of cheaper options than GAME.
Yeah no big loss I don't even bother going in anymore they are complete shite, they only sell the most popular games that everyone already has and more explencive than every other shop, like 3 rows of CoD Black OPS still £39.99 each, Red Dead Redemption G.O.T.Y Edition £34.99 I got it from Zavvi for £18.95. For some reason GAME unwrap all the new games too, technically making them used. + 90% of their online items say out of stock
Most of the gaming shops do that here in Australia. I help out at the "24hr sale" over christmas at the Game Traders store I mentioned above, they de-disc and remove the manuals before they go on the shelf.
I hate GAME. EB is not the same as it was in the 90's. Personally, I like GameTraders. Why? Because they actually still care about the older consoles. I liked the GameWizards. They were cool. There used to be a HUGE one on Paramatta Road.
But how hard is it to just have like 5 cases opened on the shelf and leave the rest sealed? Or a print out like duty-free used to do in the 90's? I ranted about them opening everything single game they get shipped in on one of my videos. Any of you remember GameRush? Their stores were awesome.
Game has been going bad for a long time. The prices are terrible and can be found cheaper anywhere else.
Sorry I should have added not all games are done this way, they do leave certain games sealed and have a display out the front. Typically they do this to the big sellers, where they can afford to have a lot of stock.
Every GAME store I've ever been to has been staffed by idiots who insist upon calling me "mate" a few months ago I had some snotty 16 year old ID me for a 15 rated game just because I was asking if they had manuals. I had a fucking beard
I don't think the story beats when I got ask if I was on the "kid's menu" at a wedding function a few years ago. I haven't shaved for a month before that function... Are people really that stupid?
