Hello, i got a free Game Boy Advance (classic model one, without backlight) and everything works fine except for some magenta "comet tail" artifacts in the screen, look at it in the attached pictures. How i can repair this without replace the screen? Please help me. Thanks in advance
You might probably want to try opening this GBA and re-seating the LCD ribbon cable (it's pretty easy). I've never seen that kind of "bleeding", I only had sometimes wrong colors when I was messing around some GBA SP, re-seating the LCD cable always fixed the problem.
Hello everybody. Mysteriously Game Boy Advance screen again function properly without any blemish, and without making any repairs. I had it saved in my bag and out to play and was fine. Thank you all for your help
Might be a temperature related problem, possibly even some condensation build-up in the device. Helps if you use it every now and again, and store it horizontally somewhere dry (but not too warm).
Hmmm... Anyway i will do maintenance to this GBA for cleaning and housing replacement, maybe blowing with a hair dryer might help to avoid condensation. Also there's some rust in batteries contacts thats need urgent cleaning. Thanks again for the clues All the process will be documented on my blog and youtube channel
