Hello there, what I was wondering is if the Game Boy Light received any official merchandise? I'd very much like to have my Famitsu Game Boy Light as my go to portable games machine but I'm concerned with wear. Worst comes to worst I could just grab a case for a similar machine (Pocket, Color) but if possible I'd like an official case. Sorry if this is the wrong section too, I figured it would be sort of obscure. Thanks in advance!
Hmmm... not sure about official merchandise, I'd say there's not, but I've heard there are some silicone cases that fit the GB Light pretty well, though I haven't found one myself. If you are after a Famitsu edition, you should be pretty good with wear and tear, unlike the regular Gold/Silver edition which easily tend to get the paint off on the edges. That, or get the Famitsu for collection purposes and get a second GB Light (gold/silver) for regular use
I question the need for merch when it was the same shape of a GB Pocket. Also good god, isn't the famitsu Light worth more money then a typical light model?
I already have the Famitsu Light. I'm not a collector but I look after my consoles. The Gold/Silver wearing off of the regular Light is why I never bought one of those models. I didn't pay over the odds for this Famitsu machine either. As for the merch thing, you may be right. However, the light has some very slight differences to the Pocket - the battery bulge for one being AA instead of AAA. Was simply curious, if no such thing exists I'll seek out a snug Pocket case or maybe even something more modern that would accommodate it.
