Here are some of the unlicensed Game Boy cartridges I have found over the years. Does anyone else collect them? If so, what are some of your weirdest or favourite discoveries? I have one that has a random picture of a fish on the label. It also has a ring of stars in the indented area which I have never seen before. Another one has a weird picture of a crying red Bomberman. One of my favourites is Rockman 290 in 1 which has the first 5 Mega Man games plus another 8 random games. Another strange one is the extremely large Super 181 in 1. It doesn't work properly on a GBA SP and only has 12 actual games on it, the rest are duplicates. Some of the duplicates start up with a different number of lives. I've seen a few more of these big cartridges but this is the only one I have. I'd love to see what everyone else has, especially weird labels and different shaped carts!
"FOR GAMEBOY COLOR ADVANCE" also, that extendocart is hilarious! Saving never even worked on it so not sure why it had that battery. That Rock Man 8 game is really bad... (not my video):
I have the very same issues, and thought it was caused by broken roms. I also tested it on gbc/gba but not on sgb/gbc. Perhaps I should look out if it is possible to back it up I guess.
32 in 1 hahah I remember those. I grew up in Dubai and they use to have all kinds of hilarious consoles like Pegasus that had like 100 games in 1 and was shaped as a Nintendo Console lol Worked great though.
It'd be nice to have these flukes documented in one place. the backwards compatibility is not quite as perfect as most people think.
I've got a whole box full of those things. There used to be buckets full of them at the local flea markets and they cost pennies. They're mostly interesting as a novelty or I guess if you're extremely poor by Chinese sweat shop standards.
I always wondered if anyone collected those, nice collection! Do you also collect counterfeit cartridges?
