Hi there everyone! I am excited to show you my newest build in the Game Boy line! Some of you might remember, that I did a DMG Pokémon Edition some time ago (Link to that post is here). I always planned, that I wanted to do something similar to the Game Boy Pocket, since it was the Game Boy i grew up with. However the Game Boy Pocket is not nearly as popular as the DMG nor the Color model = I could not find any custom buttons or screens for it, so I had to standby that project for some time. A couple of months ago I discovered that Game Boy Pocket buttons was available to purchase on Ebay. That toke care of one of the problems! Then I wanted to get my self a clear/blank screen, so I could produce a custom lens by my self. That was nowhere to be found though ( I even contacted resellers in China). I ended up buying a scratch resistant glass screen, and then scrape of the paint using a sponge and hot water. I also posted about it back then, you can see it on this link. Now to the build! I could not use the same template as I did with the DMG, since the Pocket screen was to small around the edges. So I had to come up with something new. Luckily Nintendo themselves came up with the answer for me. Nintendo had released a Game Boy Light special edition, featuring Pikachu. That lens would be perfect for my Game Boy, so I ended up redrawing one which matched a screen from the Game Boy Pocket! Well enough background story! I suppose you want to see the system by now And here you have it! The "Pokémon" Logo is added with Water Slide Decal paper, just like with the DMG. The screen is made by me, but printed on a print center. The front yellow housing and the back blue one is all original Nintendo. Pikachus chin lights up when powered on. What a happy little family! As you can see I have not backlighted or pro sounded the Pocket (yet). I am considering doing so by some point, but for now I just wanted to show you the case and lens. A funny thing to mention is that after I was done with the DMG last time, these started popping up on Ebay. Perhaps it is just a coincidence? Anyway! That will do for now! I really hope that you liked the Game Boy Pocket! Let me know in the comments! Thank you! - Mads
As your previous job, this one looks great ! I even prefer this gameboy pocket to the fat gameboy you have done. Very good job !
Thank you Kennypecheur! This one really did turn out great! Thank you! Well the DMG was made a year ago and I have been using that on/off, and it still looks new. Just don´t spill water on it
Thank you very much! Always loved that multicolored Pokémon Game Boy Color, it is so 90´s/start 2000´s
