It would appear that you are!!!!!

Some details on why you decided to make such a generalism may validate your statement.

For one, they don't play friendly with locals and would much rather have a foreigner's business, for obvious reasons. They were quite cold to one of my (HK) friends who was at their store front (as are most local shops apparently.) Their prices are high even for HK and understandably (being an online store) aren't negotiable but unlike most HK shops, they clearly go western price scouting to maximize profits which certainly keeps business overseas. Basically they do what every other HK outfit does, small things to take advantage of a mail customer, but with a hint of elitism. I've had a few instances where they all together stop responding to inquiries, big spenders get mail replies, simple as that. If you present any sort of questions other than “how much is shipping?â€￾ you may be shitlisted, and no it’s not a language barrier thing. I'm not going into furthur detail I have to go now.

yes true, gamechoice has a bad service and very high prices.

first example: bought 2 MGD2's years ago and the floppy drives were broken. I sent the broken drives back to them, but never received an answer. It was hard to get a floppy that works with the mgd2.

next example: the iQue Player from GameChoice is bundled with time-limited demos only. But they write at their website "iQue Player with 64MB Flash Card w/ 5 games". every normal person would think that these games are the full version. I wrote GameChoice an email and told them to change their description, but they never did.

Yup, I bought a gamecube game from them, after seeing it was "in stock" with them. A few weeks later after having not received it I sent them an email, and it turns out that they don't actually have it in stock. I don't think they ever bothered updating their website saying it went out of stock either.

It is nice to see the place in real life, But I would prefer if it was somewhere with a slightly better reputation

Barry Ling, eh? Nice to see him! How was his English? It is rather ropey in e-mail, although I think he does understand a fair amount probably.

Totally agree about the communication. Whilst I had no problem with our transaction, I offered him a LOT more business offering to buy other products I KNEW he had... and he never replied to my e-mails. It is a shame, really - he lost himself a sale to a genuine buyer (which he should know, as I'd just bought a VERY heavy item and paid the same again for shipping!), and gets himself a bad reputation.

Yes, he has some very nice stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if he does indeed have high prices, or aims at Westerners.

It is one of those sad cases, and I'm afraid I am not so forgiving. If you're going to aim your business at Westerners (esp. UK and US), especially to make more money out of them, then learn PROPER English and communicate with your customers more!

Very cool pictures. It would be great to talk with a shop owner who is into games. In Japan it's all run by 18 year old kids who don't know jack about retro games. I buy a Neo Geo AES system and inside are the wrong AV cables. One shop has regular Neo Geo CD games for $95 each...? It's like no one in the entire store knows anything about 90% of the systems. Sometimes that helps and you can get stuff for next to nothing, but usually they just put on any random price and watch the thing collect dust.

I think I've sold every console in those pictures except for the Famicom Box and the Tales of Phantasia and Resdent Evil Gamecubes...
