Been toying around with the idea of using custom soundtracks in Game Cube games. I was able to swap songs from game to game and it works but do any tools exist that make it possible to create your own music files in this format? I stumbled across many ripping tools but nothing I could use to create my own files to add to an image file.

Here is a .DSP file from the game I was trying to modify with: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1uzfurcqcg3wdn3/005_1.dsp

The song is Tengu Man's stage from the Mega Man Collection. The beginning of the song is chopped out. It seems when Atomic Planet made the game they used many DSP files for the music but ended up using the loop point they created as the starting point of the song. The beginning part is on the disc but I guess the game just don't use them correctly so the song just loops that file. Another example is when you listen to the title song music. In the case of Tengu Man's Stage the file that should be used first is titled 005.DSP and then move on to 005_1.DSP.

I used mediainfo but I couldn't pull up any info on the file. Also I have been using foobar2000 with this plugin to play the .DSP files.

The song works with winamp + chipamp.

It's a must have for all kind of VGM.

    Enjoy da music!
