    Hi there,

I hope this is the right place to put this but I couldn't find anywhere better :)

I have found my old Game Doctor SF III for my SNES, and it used to work fine.

However I think the floppy drive has gone to meet it's maker, and so I need to replace it.... as with most IT people I have a mountain of spares, namely floppy drives :D , however I have tried 2 PC Floppy drives in it that I know work, however the Game Doctor doesn't recognise the drive :(

Do these actually even take a PC Floppy drive?, if so what am I doing wrong?.

    Thanks :)

Game Doctors use standard PC drives, if you're sure the drive works, you must have another issue. Do you get an error message on powerup? You ARE using a power supply aren't you?

I'll try to describe as best as I can :)

    Old Floppy Drive :
    -----------------------
I run a self test on it and all the ROM checks ok, when it asks for a blank floppy disk, I get a horrible grinding sound from the floppy and it says Disk Error (RST)

    New Floppy Drive :
    ------------------------
I run self test, all checks ok, says Insert Blank Floppy, drive catches like you would expect when you put a floppy in, but never does anything :(

What do you mean by using a power supply?, you mean for the Game Doctor?, in which case, yes I am :)

    Cheers
