Hi there, I hope this is the right place to put this but I couldn't find anywhere better I have found my old Game Doctor SF III for my SNES, and it used to work fine. However I think the floppy drive has gone to meet it's maker, and so I need to replace it.... as with most IT people I have a mountain of spares, namely floppy drives , however I have tried 2 PC Floppy drives in it that I know work, however the Game Doctor doesn't recognise the drive Do these actually even take a PC Floppy drive?, if so what am I doing wrong?. Thanks
Game Doctors use standard PC drives, if you're sure the drive works, you must have another issue. Do you get an error message on powerup? You ARE using a power supply aren't you?
I'll try to describe as best as I can Old Floppy Drive : ----------------------- I run a self test on it and all the ROM checks ok, when it asks for a blank floppy disk, I get a horrible grinding sound from the floppy and it says Disk Error (RST) New Floppy Drive : ------------------------ I run self test, all checks ok, says Insert Blank Floppy, drive catches like you would expect when you put a floppy in, but never does anything What do you mean by using a power supply?, you mean for the Game Doctor?, in which case, yes I am Cheers
