So, does the home version of Final Fight have this in it?

That picture's from a Youtube video called Engrish Final Fight, it's not from the game (if the obviously wrong font didn't give that away).

BTW, that font looks very familiar, but I just can't remember exactly what game I've seen it in...

Blazing Star has some pretty funny Engrish in it. "Hey poor player!"

Blazing Star is supposedly the origin of the whole (epic) FAIL meme that's going on.

The Super Famicom game, Melfard Story has some interesting song titles in the sound test including words such as fuck and shit. I kid you not!

I love Engrish. The complete Zero Wing intro is a hilarious classic example. My favorite is the simple but effective "Victoly!" in SamSho IV.

Do you mean Melfand Stories? I didn't see any such words. Unofficial translations don't count.

King of Fighters had some good Engrish such as various winning quotes.

No, this is the real deal. Way before all these hacks and translations came along. It'm been such a long time though. I may have thought of the wrong game. It was published or developed by JAM though. I remember the logo because it spoke the name. I'll have a look when I get home. It may have not been Melfand Stories.

    - From eXceed 2nd (an awesome doujin game which is a great combination of Touhou and Ikaruga):
    - From the arcade, american version of Thunder Zone:

These game has one-two more engrish examples but I forgot to make screenshots of them.

And to be more exact from the japanese version of Samurai Shodown (and not only to IV but to older games of the series too).

At least that's what's written on several pages documenting the creation of memes. Yes, I was bored enough to do research on that.

Other Engrish stuff that comes to my mind:

    * CALAVAN STAGE in any caravan shooting game (Super Star Soldier, Soldier Blade etc).

    * CONGULATULATIONS (sic!) after finishing the arcade version of Batsugun SV.
I kid you not. See right here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeUek1EJu80 (13min12 ish)

    * The 1st boss in Battle Garegga, Nose Lavagghin, was probably intended to be called Nose Laughing.

Yeah, but the FAIL meme is so huge and seems to be around since ever.

I'm sure I remember "[x] fail it" being a thing before "fail" alone was though. So it may well have come from there.

Also for Engrish you really can't beat Taiwanese pirates: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqqjA-5r_2c

EDIT: "As for Engrish you really can't beat Taiwanese game preservationists."

Am I the only PC person around here?

And that is an awesome video. "We take no notice of him." "Um."
