Hi, I have just finished recapping a Game Gear, and I have been considering doing a backlight mod of some sort. I have another 2 GGs to recap, which I also plan to mod if recapping brings them back to life. I could either use 2 LEDs, a DS Lite backlight, a DSi backlight, or just not bother. I have read some of omps threads about using the DSL/i backlight, and would have to buy regulators as well as the backlights themselves. The LEDs cause bright spots, but I do have all the parts needed for this mod. I just wanted some opinions on the advantages of each, and which is the best option. One other thing, is it normal for the GG screen brightness to go from completely off to completely washed out? There only seems to be a very small range that actually gives a usable image.
