After I replaced all the infamous capacitors on a game gear I get the screen like this

    Foto0412.jpg

as you can see 2/5 of the screen are a little bit darker than the rest...I think this is not normal, right?

anyone could tell me if the fault is probably about capacitors bad solded or something like that (I find rust somewhere) or could be the neon light or what...

I'm really pissed off after replacin all the capacitors...

many thanks for your help as always

Did you clean off all the electrolytic fluid from the old caps before you put in the new ones?

the electrolytic fluid spews out of the caps sort of like a volcano and yes it looks like rust when dried , ive seen a video on Youtube where a person uses Vinegar to neutralize the electrolytic fluid and then he soldered in the new caps............

i think the guys here would have a better guide than mine so best wait for them , but with mine you get an idea what needs to be done

The LCD is controlled by 3 ICs on the bottom of the lcd and 2 on the right side. The bottom left one is probably failing. Looks like a great candidate for an lcd upgrade though.

I had one like that (a japanese twin asic), there was rust on the traces on one of the 3 little ICS on the bottom of the LCD like Tokimemofan said.
At the end I couldn't save it and totaly screwed-up the screen :(.
