    Hello everyone,

I fully recap a Game Gear 3 month ago, and it worked perfectly until now.

When I turn the GG on, it work correctly, and 3 seconds later screen starts to make big white lines scrolling up and down, and finally the GG turn off. After that, if I turn the GG off and on, the led lights on, but not the screen, and the GG turn off imediatly.

If I wait 10 minutes, I have the sreen working for 3 seconds, and then big white lines scrolling up and down, and the GG turns off.... etc

I tested the Power Board on another Game Gear and it works.

So I fully recap it again. But nothing change.

    Any suggestion is welcome.

Disassembly the CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) and check if the corners are blackened out.

If that's the case it has gone bad and is drawing way too much current. That could be what is causing the GG to shutdown.

I had one that did this and it turned out to be a bad contact in one of the wires that connect main PCB and the power supply PCB.

It could also be caused by bad/dried/leaking caps. ( edit, sorry missed the part where you said you already recaped )

What I-Oliveira said is valid too of course.
