I recently bought a game genie for the gameboy, and when I plug it in, it doesn't show anything on screen except for the finger icon and a star. I really want to get this fixed, so what do I do?

Tried giving the contacts a good clean with a pencil rubber?

I tried cleaning it with a cotton swab, but I'll try with the eraser.

    1. do carts work well on the system?

Do you get the partial logo lockup?

The gameboy works exceptionally well. I've never had an issue with any game except now. The logo comes up fully, no errors.

Except for the game genie. I think I might have to return it.
