i read the article again and you are right. i didnt take the time to read it as i should have. up at the top it says she found one of her twin baby sons lying dead. i should have realised the brothers would be the same age. yes there is, the whole article is funny. its sick, its sad...and its funny. the entire article seems to at least imply that the reason the man went crazy and killing one son and allmost the other is that the gamecube drove him to it. that there is some link between a man killing his children and a video game. not that the man in question might have a history of mental illness, that he might have a problem with anger...but that when he plays videogames he goes MAAADD with rage. then out of left feild the author slaps in The baby, who was "grey and floppy", was pronounced dead at hospital. who is the source for that quote, why isnt it given? its not the hospital, and do you really think the parents would use the phrase "grey and floppy" to describe their dead kid? my money is Aidan Mcgurran himself is the source of that quotation. its a tabloid newspaper...a tabloid news paper. the headline is sandwhiched between G8.. Indeed. I'm 23 and I don't feel, at all, ready to have children - for at least ten more years... People aged 16 and 18 having children... that's not just scary, it bulds up to tragedies like this one. Now, of course, the media loves to scapegoat videogames, just as they have in the past. So now videogames are to blame for unbalanced individuals with guns, and people who shouldn't have babies being irresponsible. It's not the guy's swearing or the guy's playing GameCube that caused the baby's death: it's his irresponsability and many deeper social problems. This is just sad.
i think they focus way too much on the fact that this guy was a game-olic. If he was alcoholic or something, they wouldn't have told us wich type of beer he liked the most or anything, Because that isn't important at all, same about talking about game cube or a game called true crime, but since playing video games seems to be the way to go to hell if you reffer to the medias by these days, they feel the need to inform us what he was playing, because it's the fault of the game, and we should boycot it, maybe. the point is the media makes it money of tragedy, suffering, and controversey, its a known fact, nice news does not sell here or in britian i belive. The thing is i never once here that the news or newspapers for that matter are to blame, but if its got something to do with a person watching a movie or playing a game, then brother lets overamplify it. Ive had moements where im so pissed off playing a game i start to throw the controller hard down and punching the floor, but i never tkae the abuse on anyone, not even an animal. Its real disturbing that a guy would do this over a video game. Then again ironicaly that woman who had an affair with one of her sutdent who was underage jsut recently was released from prison and endded up marrying him, so there other nuttyer things.
