Yeah, I mode is expensive in Japan too but they were the first with mobile video phones (Video chat) about 3 years ago but now everyone has that as well as video emails and so on. Vodafone is by far the best here in Japan but their coverage can be a little dodgy in some areas. I had to laugh at the features of those British/Irish i-mode phones. Key Features Integrated VGA camera. Large 65k colour screen. Downloadable games. Triband. Polyphonic Ringtones. Clock and alarm! Calculator Talktime-up to 150mins/Standby time up to 150 hours HOLLY SHIT !! A CALCULATOR & ALARM   Surely the phones have something more interesting than that on them? Man, I'd hate to have to go back to western mobiles, they just plain suck Even the models by Japanese companies are crap. It's as if they make them with less features just to keep Japan ahead. I remember looking at a Panasonic and Sharp phone in the UK last year. I couldn't beleive how expensive and shit they were when Panasonic and Sharp make some amazing phones over here. Mine's a sharp. Yakumo
Remember that that is a bit of a cheap phone - There are a lot of much more powerful phones out there - even mine which is nearly 2 yrs old now is better than that one
yeah as the steadster said there do exist more advanced phones i west too.. here is mine: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/devices/images/a1000/a1000.jpg it cost me like 10USD/month for a year when I signed for some phone company
Yeah, we're quite a bit behind with phones. It's taken us 3 years to get UMTS (the 3G thingy) and SIX years to get i-mode compared to Japan!
