Just thinking (I always think of weird things) should game roms, iso's, even original disks / carts be kept for preservation similar to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault storing all known plant seeds in the world or great libraries of the world with documents going back to ancient times?

In the year 3000 the (our) current games can still be available to all to see and probably laugh at!

    T
his could be applied to music and movies as well.

Unless people have already started on such an ambitious project.

    What are your thoughts?

EDIT - Fixed some of my wording

Such a large portion of games exist I can't see the need for something like that. Plus there's many, many places to DL the games online and play them through emulators.

Rare games, however already have their own "seed vault". It's called a dedicated collector.
