I'm off to Kaohsiungm and Taipei in a few weeks for about 10 days to do some work.

Although the tumbleweeds are going to invade this thread, one or two of you might have been to taiwan so are there any game shops or arcades I should try and visit?

Alright, let me think a bit..

When I was in Taipei I didn't really see that much worth visiting (mind you I wasn't really looking either) however there was one shopping center with a decent amount of games and a far more interesting arcade on the top floor with some nice Chinese/Korean games (Beatmania rips offs for example) which was interesting. Also got to play DJ Max the arcade version which is definetely recommended as it is a very original and well executed idea. Beats Jubeat easily..

If you take the subway to Ximending and you enter the main street, take the 2nd or 3rd to your left. Walk down that street until you hit another street parallel to the main street. On that street there should be a clothes shop with a name like Harajuku fashion or else ''something Japanese'' fashion. Walk past that store and on your left there'll be a sort of hidden, not very good looking mall. It's in there.

Hope this description is actually understandable, I'd have to break out the map to be more accurate to be honest.

Love Taipei though, had an awesome time when I was there last time.
