gameboy color a and b buttons not working

Hi guys I got a gameboy color that has battery acid damage I managed to clean it up and the system is working but the acid destroyd the a and b buttons pads completely I solders a cable to the buttons traces and if I joined them Mario jumps but since the pads are gone there is no place to soldered the cables any idea?
