    Greetings fellow peep,

Ok, finally i got some time to myself and I dig out my 3 faulty gameboys (2 with power switch issues-able to power on but takes a couple of time moving fliping the power switch on and off and also 1 until totally cant be powered on) and i have dismantle the gbc to study on the possible issues, however I realise that the mainboards are of different revision!

I have attached the images here for reference and also if anyone can direct me to resolve and repair this gameboys issue.

    So my question is.....

    1) are there more revision of gbc mainboards? CGB-CPU-01, CGB-CPU-02 or CGB-CPU-06? (If so I will appriecate if u could upload a pic in this thread)
    2) which gbc mainboard is deem common and what is uncommon or the mainboard which is used in the last phase of gbc?
    3) Common repair tips for the cgb (sound / lcd / power issue or fix)

Thanks you for your time and i hope someone can contribute to this thread, and hopefully this could serve as a reference for future cgb related thread.

Found some related stuff on the web

    Chip Info

    CGB-CPU-02

    CGB-CPU-03

    CGB-CPU-04

    CGB-CPU-05

    CGB-CPU-06

    • U1: CPU: CPU CGB E
    • U3: Audio Amp: AMP MGB IR3R56N
    • U4: CGB-REG (IR3E06N)
    • X1: Oscillator: KDS 8.388Mhz

    Adjustments

    • VR2: Adjusting this will change something relating to horizontal interlace. The net result of adjusting VR2 will be more or less visible interlacing on static graphics.
If you have GBC and can easily see interlacing, even when nothing on screen is moving, adjusting VR2 can help you to eliminate the visible interlace and give a more "solid" appearance to the image.

    Capacitor List

    C32 100uF 6vC35 22uF 16vC38 100uF 4v

Look near the earphone port, the components marked "F1" and "F2" are fuses, check them on the third unit.
