Gameboy Colour Frontlight + Potentiometer

Hey, I'm doing the classic front lighting of a colour with a sacrificial sp and I wanted to try something.. I was thinking of adding a thumbwheel potentiometer (just like the volume wheel) and get it looking the same so I could adjust the brightness of the sp's frontlight. Ive got some of these:

And im not sure what pins to solder to the circut (if it is even suitable)...

Can you give me some recommendations or ideas on what I should use? I just dont know how to do it properly...
