My freind has a gameboy colour that is not saving on any of his game files, however when he plays the same games in another gameboy colour the games will save. so the bateries are not dead (in most of his games) but I'm not shure what the problem could be...anyone know how to solve this problem?

My guess would be: cartridge pin #5 responsible for SRAM. Probably there's no connection in cartridge socket, loose joint or bad pin.

If you play a game on a gameboy color and save then take it out and put it in another gameboy color the file gets deleted. I just tested it with Pokemon gold.

Your battery in the cartridge is dead then because that shouldn't happen.
Pokemon gold and silver have shite batteries that die pretty rapidly, my pokemon blue and red cartridge batteries have outlasted my gold and silver ones.

I think it is due to the battery also being used to maintain the correct time for the game- thats why the batteries die sooner?

I discovered it when it happened to Link's awakening, but it might still be the case.
