I don't think many people know exactly what's up with these. I have seen many posts that are either in-accurate or out of date. What's odd about gameboy dev stuff is how scarce the older stuff is, and the information about it. the most current solution for a flashcart is the EMS 64m card. It has one save slot, the annoying two pages of 32m size, and can get stuck on one page. The newer versions of this cart work FINE on the gameboy pocket. It no longer drains the SRAM batt. one cool thing about it is that both pages share the same save, so you can have the same SRAM game on both pages and not worry about of it gets stuck on a page. It DOES not have a real time clock so games like pokemon silver can't have all features. But you can transfer the save to the computer and overclock the emulator to switch to night and then re transfer. Another modern but not really available solution is a USB bleep bloop cart. They use a real mbc5 and have a much better game conpatability. Problem is they only hold one game at 16m (the max of the cart) not only are these more expensive, but pretty impossible to find. They are hand made by one person, and we're geared towards the chipmusic producers (lsdj, and other trackers). Bleepbloops do not have a real time clock either. And only have one save. my favorite flashcart that I own is my netmars emerger. It's actually a copier but can use a computer as a source aswell. It can read both game and sav from source cards, and can also read games and saves from e-card (flash). It can also write to e-card and write sav to source card. The e-card (Emergers flashcart) has a real time clock and can hold multiple saves. I had all 3 original pokemons, metroid II, and warioland 2 all with saves on it before. I also have a non-USB bleepbloop and it is the same thing as the USB but obviously does not have the interface. You either need a bleepbloop USB programmer to flash it, or can use a modified USB bleepbloop Cart to flash it with a parallel cartridge slot (NEX's method) anyway here's a picture of my carts. Let me know of anyone has any other cool oddball carts (pocket voice, doctor gb, smart boy, etc):

Wow these carts are AWESOME *.*

I'm saving some money to buy an EMS 64mb USB card , but I know that this card don't have RTC and can handle only one save at a time.
By the way , I think that other cards are very difficult to find nowadays , that is sad ..

I hope that somebody will make a cart similar to the EMS 64 USB , but with an RTC and a better savegame system ;)

Wasn't it possible to fake the RTC events with cheatcodes?

soon all these flashcarts will be a collector's item, there is an Everdrive-GB in the works ;)
thanks for sharing the info though! I messed with that EMS64 cart for some time, it was ok-ish considering there was no real alternative
