What do you mean a 3rd party flash cart for all 3? To my knowledge that never came out But for the gba there are EZflash IV and SupercardSD. I don't know wich one is most compatible, but if you wanna hack your chao's on sa2b you shouldn't go for the EZ flash IV (won't save your tiny chao garden), but I heard something about SupercardSD not supporting the pokemon games but I'm not sure.
Thanks Dragoon! That supercard is really cheap in my country )) Do you think there is one for gameboy/gameboy color too ?
I can't recall any sd-based carts for gb/gbc from the top of my head. The gb/gbc carts themselves are rather hard to find at this point
I just saw that the EZ Flash IV can be used with "Goomba Color" that will put your gb and gbc in gba format. I think I'll stick with EZ Flash IV )
EZ IV is a good device. It's a bit of a pain to take the mini-SD in and out though. It's also a manual process to "build" the files that the emulators use.
If you still want something for the GB and GBC, contact hkems.com for a quote on their USB cart (they don't have it listed on the site). Edit: it's the USB 64M Smart Card
goomba is just an emulator, it doesnt actually put your gba into gb/gbc mode, and not all games run good
Krikzz is supposed to make a true GB/GBC flash cart in the near future, I expect once his N64 cart is out and about.
Yeah, thanks all for the replies! ) I think I'll get the EZ Flash IV for the GBA and I'll hold my breath for the gb/gbc everdrive. I'm a big fan of Igor's work! Greg2600, do you think the EZ Flash is a worth buying cartridge ? Thanks once again for all the replies.
i bought an EZ flash IV recently, pretty good device except it doesn't support the real time clock but luckily i have flash2advance ultra. also when i received mine, the battery died after like two days... contacted the guy i bought it from and he sent me 2 batteries at no charge. was pretty happy with that. replacing the battery was pretty messy, cut myself a few times :/
The EMS 64 MBit USB flash card is the cheapest/best option for GB/GBC. $40, runs virtually every commercial game with 2 full-size game banks, first party Windows flasher and 3rd party native Linux flasher (written by yours truly). Only downside is that it doesn't support GB pocket (draws too much power). For that you'd need a bleepbloop cart, which is about 2x as much for 1/4 the memory. No everdrive-like cart exists for the system mostly because the physical constraints of the cartridge make it really difficult. I suspect if you do see one in the future it will be a frankencart that hangs out the top of the unit. Might even need its own battery.
