I'm talking about the one for the old GB. I remember reading EGM back in 1999 and 2000 how some company tried to make an mp3 player for the GBC. However, Nintendo sued the company because the hardware would improperly make use of the GB, as in just use it to supply power to the device and thus the device never saw the light of day.

Now what I'm wondering is if there was ever a prototype. I forgot the name of the company as well as the name of the device they planned to name it. Does anyone have any info on it, and perhaps some pictures of the device?

Well, I can confirm there WAS a prototype. I attended E3 in 2000 as an exhibitor and the booth with the GameBoy MP3 player was right behind and slightly to the right of us... I cant remember the name either. The main thing I remembered was that they had passed out fliers claiming Dr. Dre or Coolio or some such would do a performance at thier booth. He didn't show up, and I lost interest ;-)
