Many years ago I remember reading an article in a games mag about a GB PDA. It consisted of a GB cart that contained all the standard memo, schedule, calander etc and a keyboard. The keyboard was the same shape as an original GB and about half as thick. I think I remember all the buttons being round, and it hooked in via the link-up socket. The keyboard also clipped to the back of the GB for storage. I'm assuming this never came out, as I can't find any info? Does anyone know what I'm on about?
Translation software by the same company got released, but the PDA and accessory keyboard never made it to market. It was last seen demoed at one of the CES shows in Chicago. -hl718
Cool. At least I'm not loosing my mind and imagining things. Anyone happen to have a piccie? Seemed quite complete from what I remember, wonder why it was never released?
Lol, there was also like a Mary kate and ashley instant messager type thing for game boy (color i think)
I have some PDA cart thing, it has a phone book, phone dialer, things like that, the cart is faulty though, never bothered returning it to the shop (plus it was bundled with something else I wanted, can't remember what though) It only worked on GBC from what I remember as it needed the IRDA port.
I've heard (rumor, gossip) about people using software on the gb of gba and linked it to electrical motor parts in order to tune them
Indeed, they've been used for scooter tuning as well, and several electronics magazines (like the Dutch Elektuur and German Elektor) sold carts that allowed the GBA to be used as some sort of logic analyser/measuring tool.
Yup, the GB and GBC have been used for tuning - but there's also this really weird GBC Sewing Machine Kit thing that worked with a GBC to tell the machine which pattern to embroider. I think I saw it in LingJr's site - but I don't really recall where.
I showed my Mum the Izek set-up. For an ancient 60yr old who thinks videogames are the spawn of Satan, she was actually quite impressed. I'm still going to hell though (apparently).
