Gameboy Pocket ANA - is it rare?

I've never heard of an ANA edition Gameboy pocket, but it's going for $190 off the bat. What is the ANA edition?

Is it really worth this price at that condition? I don't think so at all, but maybe ANA edition is ultra-mega-rare.

 

Never seen this variation. If I had to take a wild stab, it might be like the Mega Jet, rented to Japanese airline passengers.

 

I've randomly come across it on eBay once, and read up on it at that point. iirc MSX's guess is correct - it's indeed been used as inflight entertainment.

$190 seems a bit high though, I think the one I saw went for a bit less. Don't quote me on that though, it might've been a statistical outlier or I simply might be mistaken.

 

Ah, I see. That's interesting, Japan would be cool enough to promote the use of Gameboy Pockets on their airlines. Personally, the price is too high for my taste.
I've never heard of ANA but the logo is exactly as displayed on the unit.

I'd say it's only worth $200 if it has the box and such, other wise if you ask me, $125 for just the system as this is what I usual see them go for from time to time.

 

Someone Buy it and sell it in Japan. Theres one on YJP for $1,000. lol
