Is it possible to open the controller plug? I have a controller with damaged cable and I would like to fix it.

I've never tried to open one but I am pretty sure it's a snap/lock-on tab based mechanism. The plastic handle snaps into the metal casing which is pressure mounted around the wire.

The case has 2 holes. I tried using a screwdriver. I didn't work.

There are a two metal tabs that you can reach through the holes, I think you need to bend the case over them a little:

Here is a cut through the plug case:

The shiny part just in front of the hole towards the left is the raised portion that catches the metal tab.

I did a google search, but I only found questions about how to open one. And the answers were to boil the plug or that it's impossible to open it.

EDIT: Thank you sanni! I will give it a try.
EDIT 2: I believed that those metal tabs can be pushed in, but that's impossible.
I tried lifting the the plastic, but the plastic broke.
