OE, does the DOL VIEWER work with other GC setups? Such as retail or NR? Or is the debug support code excluded from final submissions (or something like that)?

    Debug NR builds, yes.

I'm wondering why they made an IS-DOL viewer with memory card connection for DDH/GDEV if you can debug with a DDH or GDEV itself too... (sorry, might be a stupid question.)

    I think you're confusing the USB2EXI with IS-DOL VIEWER.

The SD adapters don't really look any different to a memory card, so I wonder why you can't use them.

The datel sd launcher is good because you don't have to open/close your drive & you can get it to auto start a game on the sd card on power up.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/SD-Media-Launcher-1GB-Wii/dp/B000QDGIWK

I bought this one but it came with a free upgrade to 2gb (I'm glad I didn't pay the extra, though maybe the 2gb comes with 4gb ).

Grabbing some sd card reading code from the net and you can go in there with a retail console and boot up your game. In fact if they already have one, then you don't have to lug anything except for a mini dvd and a memory card.

You could also boot off a dvd-r if you install gamecubeos onto the sd card instead, but you have to swap & alot of consoles don't like dvd-r's and the mini ones are expensive.

Most game studios should understand that outsiders don't always have the official tools. Over the years, they don't always buy the expensive official tools either. The number of playstation games that were developed with action replay cartridges would suprise you.

I'm with you smf, I'd of thought that an SD card / or modded console / the 'usual' homebrew code running techniques, would of been the simplist answer, but if you go back to Jeff's original scenario, he wants to use P.C apps that complicate the issue, if that makes sense.

Not really, especially considering how the original post was worded.

Thanks for your help guys, but here's the ultimate issue:

I have a game that runs on the GC GDEV and DDH that I have. I would ideally like to show some people. I don't want to lug around my PC and monitor just to launch the game that's on the GDEV....

I also have the Datel SD launcher app, which works, but my code loads assests of the disc like a game would. I have tried to use homebrew sd reader code with no luck. So, unless I can launch a DVD-R (which intriqued me a little)... I don't see a way I could do this besides lugging my PC/Monitor/GDEV/Controller just to show my little demo, seems like a lot of work I'd rather avoid. I'll look into the mini-dvd-rs next, but any other ideas?

    Jeff.
