Anyone know if there are alternate solder points for the digital output on the those GameCubes? I came across some boards that a bit beat up. Wondering if there are alternate points instead of the ones to use on the actual digital output port to solder to. Thanks
Iirc there is but the Digital AV port is the easiest on Rev. A and B units (DOL-001). The other points are the video encoder itself. Am I correct in assuming this is for GCVideo?
Hopefully you can salvage them. The DAC (AVE-N-DOL for NTSC units and iirc it was AVE-P-DOL for PAL units) should have all of the pins except the 54mHz and Cable Select pins. I'm not sure where they are outside of the Digital AV port, unfortunately. You can find the DAC right next to the Digital AV port on the underside of the console. The pinout for an NTSC unit is as follows: I have not been able to find alternate points for the 54mHz and CableSelect pins. If I do, I'll update this post.
