I remember seeing pics of a game (maybe Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing) in which all the characters were cubes - and even the ripples in the water were square. Anyone know what game this is?

Also, I think I want either Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing. I assume they are quite similar (I've tried to read some review - but they all start with the assumption that you know the game). I really just want a 'do nothing' game.

    Thanks!

cubivore is uncommon, and it's a great game. A title sure to gain value down the road.

I have Harvest Moon and to be honest I wouldn't get it. The GBA or SNES versions are a lot better.

  5. Most definately Cubivore. Originally titled Doubutsu Banchou (Animal Leader) and slated for release on the N64 (possibly the 64DD, can't remember), it became one of the many titles like Resident Evil 0, Animal Crossing, StarFox Adventures, and Eternal Darkness to be canned during the 64's end and released on the Gamecube instead. Here are IGN's pages for Doubutsu Banchou and Cubivore, respectively:

As far as a 'do-nothing' game, I'd definately go with Animal Crossing - I've got both the N64 and GC version and it's just an amazingly fun game for one with absolutely no overarching goal. While my Harvest Moon experience is limited to just the N64 version, it's a lot of fun as well, but there's a little more responsibility in that you have to keep your farm up and running. It's still fun, but Animal Crossing is definately the more open-ended of the two.
