i just installed the xeno mod chip the red light comes on then the green i cheaked the pot and itz on 200 so didnt adjust it i boots normal games fine but when i put a back up in i get error and tells me to turn of cube and cheak book im useing tesco dvd - r/the game is re 1 imgburn and 4x is the lowst i can burn at if itz was the disc it would just not read? any help plz
Each laser is different and just cause the laser is set to 200ohms does not mean it will work with copied media. Some lasers are much more worn than others. I would start dropping the ohms down in small increments like 10ohms and test the game again. I have had some that I had to drop down to 150ohms to get them to read copied media.
what discs would u use didnt have no blanks and tesco is the only shop round my way ;/ i just wondered why is says error in a red box i can get to xeno menu with a retail game press start after cube logo and it says something shell 1.05
Which means the chip is fine, but its the media or laser. You should be using something decent quality - if you have a full size lid replacement get some TY discs. If not, some higher end TDK mini dvdr work OK in my experience.
i use the 8cm ones, i know that there where these bigger cases so you could use normal size dvd discs with it with some gamecube modchips that supported that,but i use the mini verbatim dvd's (8cm)
