XenoGC 2.0 chip, USA/JP switch (needs a new switch, it fits in the hole you see in the fan grill - old one broke). Styled after the FF:CC model. Pardon the poor iPhone photos. My DSLR is on the other side of town. :/ Comprehensive paint job, all surfaces covered except a few interior corners (didn't want to waste paint). There's a few blemishes, but I'm satisfied. Didn't want to spend any more time on it than I needed. I'm planning another less-traditionally-colored paint job in the future. I'm not sure what I want to do it on, though... I'm thinking another 'cube is in order.
Whoops, totally forgot to put on the stickers. Yes, I ruined the big silver bottom one. Heat gun slipped and got too close. Oh well, it was the first time I've ever tried to take a sticker off. Should have practiced beforehand.
Nice, looks like the real thing. Are the white ones rare in the US that it's worth painting it yourself? I see them for sale all the time for around €10 (console only). I even got mine for €5.
Hmm I'm not aware of a US release for the white Gamecube. If I understand correctly... Japanese model is DOL-001 (component AV port) PAL model is DOL-101
DOL-001 was first model with digital port DOL-101 was later model with the digital port removed ...or so I have been told
Don't think we got white, just silver. Joke must be on me, I didn't know there was a standard white release, I only knew of the FF boxed set and the Hanshin Tigers (striped white) one. I forgot to take a picture of it powered-on... I changed the power LED from the amber/orange to bright green. It looks super sweet. Another note: the ATi sticker on the front was peeled-off when I got the system (was my first cube, a friend gave it to me when the laser died many years ago). Oh well!
Lol, well I actually wanted the power button to be red, but I accidentally painted the reset button. Decided to just leave it be.
add in mainland Europe only then? the UK only got white as a Mario Smash Football limited edition and that was more of a pearl white. I know mainland Europe had some that the UK didn't, like the tales of symphonia green one
