Gamecube - Is there a way to trick the lid pcb into always being closed?

    Here's the situation -

I accidentally broke the contact prongs on the little gamecube pcb that triggers the lid into thinking it's closed. My question is--whether or not there's a way to jump the two contacts on the little pcb into thinking it's automatically closed.

    :p

Problem solved! Fixed my issue by soldering across the two sets of contacts . I was hoping to jump the proper pins, but this will do.

Well done. Although you might want to invest in a small manual switch to control the lid sensor. Otherwise you'll have issues with 2 disc games (Resident Evil Zero & Remake, and Metal Gear Solid:Twin Snakes for example). Was really common to see this breakage done to Gamecubes (put it back together with the lid closed I'm guessing?).

Another (cheap) trick is to mount an ordinary tactile switch on the back wall of the case and the lid "paddle" will make contact here.

I have a spare switch somewhere if you'd like an actual part.

Indeed, I did put the lid back on while it was closed (doh!). In the end, I'm not peeved because I'm just going to be focusing my limited time on The Legend of Zelda:WW and Mario Kart:DD.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm content...a.t.m :)

Also, thank you for the EXTREMELY fast shipping of both chips! I blinked and the package was in my mailbox!
