Gamecube Region mod help

    i am atttempting the region switch mod on my gamecube model 101 currently its modded for Jap only and i would like to install a switch i have the switch and attempted to solder it but it did not work. The wire i used to make it full jap is only one so R5 is connected together do i need to unsolder this wire and make two on each point or is there another place i can solder a second wire?     Woah, you need to get some solid core 30 awg kynar wire... that stranded core wire is no good for that mod (If standed core wire must be used, use it with mods that have VCC and GND points). You can remove that wire but be very carefull, the pads underneath they're very delicate and can rip off. now for the region switch mod, yes you do need to have a wire attached to each pad at R5 (2 pads and remember to not link it).

    I'd desolder everything using braid (a solder sucker may well take the pads with it) and clean it up and grab some fresh cabling and give it another whirl. All that exposed wiring is asking for trouble!

    Man just install a xeno if i was you make your skills a bit better use flux and take your time.

    Men that install it's a mess, and it's only two wires :p
    Desolder and don't short the wire with the ati chip like the second photo :p

    Guide says to use 30 AWG wire, and it looks like you used regular.

    I really dont know how that survived with all that nude cable looking for trouble.

    I'm just going to leave this japanese for now and i know the soldering is terrible i need a new iron also i have cut the cable its just that one point soldered together so no more nude wire :p
