i was wondering if you guys have some suggestions... i love the ps2 pad, but not for fighting games; i hold it in a way that i get hurt in the finger behind the directional cross in the place where the hole for the screw is... 8anyone else have this problem?) so i'm asking what is you favorite gamepad, what you suggest to get and how much to expect to pay. thanks, karsten
My absolute favorite is the USB Saturn pad (since I'm assuming this is about PC controllers), I dunno where to find one these days but eBay would a good bet. The PS2 d-pad is godawful for fighting games, and not that great for anything else really...
I'm using the Neo Geo PS2 pad. If I'm not mistaken, it's got a PS1-type encoder in it, so it's not compatible with games that require a Dual Shock 2 input. Convenient link: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-e-49-en-70-kuq.html It has the genuine Neo D-pad, with all it's divisive clicky qualities. You either love it or hate it.
depends on the system I've had them for XBOX and they were horrible. The PS2 ones are pretty good they're at least half way decent.
Is the PS2 Saturn controller compatible with the PS3? I might need one or two to play street fighter 4. PS: is that even a good idea?
What was the difference? I almost got one awhile ago. In hindsight I guess I didn't miss out since I don't have an Xbox or PS2 anymore.
If the only problem is the hole for that screw then why don't you fill it in? Take the end off an eraser and shape it fit the hole or if you don't care about the controller just fill it with glue or something.
i thought about that, but the dpad too is not so good so i planned of getting a new pad for fighting games... too bad that the only 2-3 that seems decent are out of stock everywhere or have insane prices on ebay (expecially for the neogeo one that looked the best one)
I have the Street Fighter D-Pads for PS2 (Mainly for Street Fighter AC, that had SF3 and HSF2T) and they are awesome for fighting games and shooters. I really wish they were wireless, though. Are the new X360 SFIV D-Pads released? are they wireless? Are they as good as the PS2 ones? Hope so.
Yes, they've been released, but you can barely get them anywhere because Mad Catz screwed up and many way too few. They're not wireless, but I think they're supposed to be pretty good.
http://www.thrustmaster.com/product.aspx?ProductID=87&PlatformID=5 I like Thrustmaster's dpads better than Sony's. I have no idea why Sony insists on using the split d-pad.. It's quite counter-intuitive. Of course if you plan on playing a lot of beat 'em ups a dedicated arcade stick would be the best choice.
i can't use sticks this is why i go for pads.... i can play with sticks only putting them on a table and standing like in arcades
The USB models are the PC-Saturn pads then, because the original Saturn-PS2 controllers had the usual PS controller plug. Either way, I d be happy using one instead of the ordinary DS3.
