Good Gravy, that must have hurt. Whatever happened to just punching someone in the jaw, if you were pissed at them? (Still, sunofabitch shouldn't have cheated...)
In other news the attacker has seemingly disapeared. While some have rumored he was quickly swept away and hired by Microsoft as part of a posse tracking down users with modded systems, Microsoft has had no comment about the rumors.
You guys need a reality check. It's just a game FFS. Nobody deserves to be stabbed in the head with a carving knife.
Very true Taucias, but it was something so seemingly superficial and simple that won him a knife in the cranium.
The simple answer. Is that it's like a sport. It's very competitive . People play to win and win by superior skills fairly. Not by cheating because you are a douchebag who doesn't respect playing seriously because it's just a game. That's like saying it's ok to cheat in a sport like Hockey, or American Football or anything that's competitive and no one will get mad about it.
I don't think he should have cheated but that's still no reason to knife someone. At least he survived but i think he might think twice about hacking games now.
Still, I don't see the Olympic committee putting knifes in the heads of those who doped. They should have just said that he has to leave now, that they won't play him again, or something.
I'm not saying it's ok for someone to stab someone for cheating. But what do you expect? Them to walk up to the guy and say "Hey good job winning even though you cheated." Or for them not to be upset? There's nothing more irritating than having something ruined by someone cheats in a competitive event. I don't know about you but i'm pretty sure 99% of us want to win something competitive in a fair way.
No, maybe a beating but not a knife through the head. Really, some of the comments about this are childish at best. This is some serious fucked up shit. A knife through the head is as bad as it gets. It's basically attempted murder. And there's nothing that is an excuse for murder. Yakumo
Lol, how awesome this phrase refers to the cheater rather than to the (wannabe) killer  That's really tough. Cheating ain't nice, but what sort of a fucked up mind rams a knife into somebody else for it? In his HEAD??
Think about it, in a real situation. A bully, constantly picking on some kid smaller than him until one day the kid's threshold reaches it's limit and he snaps. Ending with him completely (usually) beating up the bully. Who really isn't that tough 99% of the time and is just full of it. Now imagine if this kid had been doing this to the other guy for months, the guy tries to reason with the kid (who obviously like most people who don't take games seriously doesn't work) through the game "stop cheating, please yadda yadda etc." Then he pretends to be nice to him and want to become friends maybe , so he asks him to meet at cafe(or w/e). Then while having a nice chat he takes down the facade and starts accusing the kid of wallhacking. Of course the kid will deny it . The rest is as is. He snapped grabbed knife and stabbed him. *shrugs* Of course he made the choice but i'm also sure he felt disrespected by someone who doesn't play fair and Irritated maybe even enraged. What some dicks do on games online is all of the above.
I emphasize anyone who beats up his bully after having been teased for a long time. But cheating = bullying? I never thought about it that way! If I was on a server where there is someone cheating, regardless if he is a friend from RL, I'd change the server. As easy as that! I don't get what you try to say lol. You mean stabbing someone, or physical violence in general, can be seen as a natural reaction? I never took online games that seriously, I don't play online either. But when I did (i.e. CoD 4 at a friend's house), I was way more upset about all those dumb comments by 14yr olds trying to tell me to switch the server because I was too bad. I don't think cheating could ever be a possible motif for stabbing someone, but then again, I'm not dedicated to online-gaming. But I don't say that I have never felt the extreme urge to stab a knife into the head of someone on the internet. That feeling comes up after every second YouTube comment I read!
Would you stab someone in the head of cheating in a game of Hockey or American Football? Your bullying analogy is totally wrong too. If you play on a server someone is wall-hacking on, either ban them or leave and play on another server. Bullied kids cannot escape.
I know, what the fuck drives people to use wallhacks? Fuck. Lesson learned, kid should have bought the Kevlar helmet at start of that round. and now, i'm off to play some CS myself.
Holy Mary Jesus that is a bit much. It's people like this that give gamers a bad name. I'm not saying that the guy that was stabbed in the head wasn't a massive douche; there's two sides to every story, and he probably was (i mean, come on, he was a CS:S player after all ) But no one deserves to be stabbed in the head for being a hacker. Not to mention all of the hysteria this is going to cause with all the soccer moms.
