http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/...hile-testing-pokemon-gos-gps-fueled-features/ "I was trying to get a Pokémon from a natural water resource," Wiggins told County 10. ... Wiggins climbed the fence near her home and walked to the river in question, where she reports she found a grown man floating in the water. Wiggins alerted authorities immediately, who later told the public that they did not suspect foul play.

This game has certainly made strides to get kids out of the house. If the recent surge of memes is any indication of things to come then Nintendo will be credited with solving two major issues: over population and stupid people.
Overpopulation is a myth though. Earth can handle more than 25 billions of people easily - that's without any limits and almost 2 times more if we'll stop wasting resouces with overproduction, overconsumption and planned obsolescence. Like when people buy a new mobile phone each year or even twice in a year even if new one got only 10-20% more powerful hardware or just "new" and old one still have 97% of battery capacity left and in perfect condition. And 25-50% don't sell and go to recycling which isn't 100%.
Myth or not, I think you are understating the overwhelming destructive force of man and I do not believe we would survive such an increase under our current model. That is my opinion and you have yours. I am sorry this thread got derailed so quickly.
I really wish that people would stop pushing this as an accepted positive outcome. So what if someone doesn't want to go outside?
You can wish all you want but, as long as there are people out there, they will be "pushing it as an accepted positive outcome". Get the game, dude, it will do you good.
Four things: I don't play Pokemon I don't play mobile games I don't play AR games I don't play outside
Pokemon Go is a cancer upon this Earth and only bad things will come of it. I can just see the headlines now: "Man places Pokemon lures in alleyway, abducts children".
You had me worried there for a second. I'm not a pokemon guy nor am I big into mobile gaming but I've given Pokemon Go a shot. I thought it was a neat concept and I already do a lot of running/walking anyway. Bonus.
