I dont think I have ever told anyone here but Im a big 80's fan. I was born in 86 so sadly I didnt get to remember any of it.

However through my uncles tales and the music and videos its something I long to live through >_<

So I am asking, other then Vice City are there any games set in this time period. I dont care what type of games and they dont have to be new games.

70's games are also acceptable as I love Hotel Dusk more then anyone will ever know >_>

The only games I own that might have 1980s segments would be the Timesplitters games. FP doesn't, but if you don't have it, I'd consider getting it anyway.

And while this game isn't out yet, Destroy all humans 3 takes place in the late 70s. Those games are really big on making fun of the culture at the time, and a lot of the jokes are hit or miss. The first one was funnier, actually.

I have the first 2 Destroy all Humans games and I have Timesplitters FP but not any of the others. I will look into them.

These can also be PC games as I know there are alot more adventure type games for PC then anything else. Hotel Dusk is my favorite 70's game. Its just so good I am HOPING that nintendo has the common sense to make a sequel either on the Wii or DS.

Hmm, good question. I can't really think of anything at the moment though, maybe some of the Leisure Suit Larry games? I know it's not much but it's all that springs to mind at the moment.

The arcade game Crime Fighters definitely has an 80's vibe.

Ahhh... 1986, a good year. I remeber it well - the Transformers movie, Masters of the Universe, King Kong Lives, Inhumaniods, Mask... the 80s was a golden age for movies. It was right when special effects started to get good, but you were still allowed to be nasty or gross and get away with it, unlike the trite Hollywood crapola we have today.

The Scarface game takes place in the late 1970s.

Some great ideas for me to look into! Thanks for the tips.

But does anyone know if there are any PC adventure/mystery type games set in that time. Like I said they dont have to be new, hell they can be MADE in the 80.

EarthBound Zero|MOTHER takes place in 1988. Funny thing is, it came out on 1989!

Like I said, maybe the first two or three Larry games, or maybe Police Quest? Memory is a little foggy on those, could be that they were made in the early nineties.

Actually, none of the Metal Gear games take place in the 80s.

The first game takes place in 1995, and MGS3 and Portable OPs take place in the 60s and early 70s, iirc.

I think the 80s were skipped in that series.

If there was a Metal Gear game set in the 80s, it would be about Solid Snake in school trying to sneak past the hall monitor. :)
