I recently got my GS64 back from a friend, and I went to try it out and it doesn't work. I'm a bit disappointed that it didn't work, all it did was give me a big green "8" on the LED display and show a blank screen. Ive tried every game I have for the N64 and it didn't work. I got a bit of a response from the unit when I tried it with KI Gold, It showed a green "7" on the LED display, then it went blank. I've tried opening it up and cleaning the contacts up with isopropyl alcohol. Still, I didn't get anything. I've heard it works all the time with Super Mario 64, but unfortunately, I don't own that game anymore. So, If anyone can help me, that'd be great. I have read the thread about the GS64, but it wasn't much help. If this unit doesn't work, I'll just sell it so I can get a Sega Genesis or a PC Engine. I've heard the PCE are awesome, but that's for another thread.

Rubbing alchohal isn't always going to get all the dirt out. Try using an eraser. If that doesn't help you could always use real fine sand paper. Game sharks were pretty poorly built. I remember the last one I owned had to clean it quite a bit to boot again(oddly worked again when I cleaned pins directly beneath the cart slot on top).

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I tried using the fine sandpaper, but I'll try the rubber eraser.

I can try reflashing it if all else fails.

I haven't tried the pencil eraser trick yet. I've been playing my Dreamcast...

Don't worry, it probably won't work. All signs point to corrupted flash.
