The GameStation is a SNES Clone with a built-in GameDoctor SF7 and CDROM drive. Unfortunately the GameStation has no internal floppy drive. A floppy drive is needed if you would like to backup and restore savegames.

Luckily the GameStation has a floppy connector and a 5volts power connector on the backside. So you can connect any 3.5inch floppy drive. However it doesn't look very good. So I decided to make an enclosure for it.

The Super Magicom/Magidrive has an external floppy which would fit perfectly to the GameStation, but it's expensive and difficult to find. Instead I bought an old external Amiga floppy drive. I also bought a rounded floppy cable.

I removed the internals and installed an old flopy drive from my computer. Luckily the rounded floppy cable had enough room to carry the power cable aswell. So I have only one large cable which does look much better imo.

Overall this mod is quite easy. Combining the two cables was the most difficult part.

I remember seeing these years ago and really wanting one. You've done a really nice job with the floppy drive  So as clones go, how is it?

As with every clones the picture quality is poor. A friend of mine thinks that it should be possible to perform an rgb mod, because it contains the same snes clone as the Tristar 64 (which can be rgb modded indeed).

The upper left part of the unit get's very hot. The cd drive is a bit sluggish. Luckily I have the IDE version. I will change the cd drive soon.

I would also like to build a cartridge adapter. The Gamestation has a large connector on the backside of the unit. Unfortunately I cannot find a documentation about the pinout. I anyone has it, please post it here :)
