I'm trying to consolidate all my SCART cables to one and this seems perfect, however everything has a green tint when I use this cable. Is this cable only for certain TVs or is there a way to tell if my specific cable could be broken or have a loose wire or something. I want to use it mainly with a Super Famicom but would like to start using it with the Dreamcast and PS1 too. http://www.gametech.co.jp/products/catalog/3507/3507_1.html http://item.rakuten.co.jp/geoeshop/009809401/
Does this cable have some kind of manual or auto switching? If not and all system cable endup connected directly together some system may still output a small signal when powered off on some signal line and may cause this green tint. Anyway, connecting various system output without a switch is always a bad idea IMO. It's always better to use a real switching system you can see in this thread how I connect all my system with an extron switch: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28244 A bit over kill but make life a lot easier when you have a lot of system!
It auto switches. Currently nothing else is connected to the cord, just the Super Famicom and the XRGB-3. This stupid Ikea setup makes dealing with cords hell, and I don't really want to make a custom cable for a switch box. I've been looking for an attractive scart switcher but haven't found one yet.
You could check with a multimeter if their is a short between two signal in the SFC cable. If the green line is short with one of the other two signal that could explain the green tint. Also check the continuity of each signal end-to-end. And btw I don't see how my stupid Ikea setup make dealing with cable harder than other TV stands. Once everything is plug you don't need to bother with cable anyways....
Not your setup, my Ikea setup, which is very different and not really made for so many cables. Your setup looks awesome.
ha ok sorry :S I used an hole saw with my drill to make more hole in my stand to make cables routing easier with mine. Something similar to this: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...%2BHole%2BSaw%2BSet%252C%2B5-pc.jsp?locale=en
