Ola chaps. For those of you remember the Assembler gathering in London 2004, at the media events some discs were given out by developers etc. I didn't ninja everything I saw though I found a couple of the media promotional discs whilst digging around last night. I have dumped the contents (not as an .iso though, copy and paste job as one kept corrupting grr), done 600 DPI scans of the labels then .rar'd them. The Gametrak one is semi-interesting. Mostly because it has a few pics of pretty women, the company was basically a failure back when it was trying to move into the motion capture market and it will definitely be a failure now the PlayStation Move, Wii and Xbox Kinect are out and about. Getting the contents out there may be the only hope to preserve the unfortunate failure of one man's vision. This is on a CD-R with what appears to be an adhesive paper printed label. The Vivendi Universal stuff could be more problematic as the company is still alive and kicking, whereas Acclaim was defunct. On the other hand though, it is a press kit, Assembler is a form of digital press, they did indeed want people to see this stuff and it is over 6 years old so who knows. None of the games in this press kit are unreleased or particularly interesting, to me at least, but obviously the contents are bigger than me and still worthy of documenting. This a DVD-ROM (which looks like a DVD-R underneath) with what appears to be a higher quality adhesive paper printed label. The XBOX 5.1 Surround Sound disc is basically a DVD movie of sorts with a couple of menus. This is on a DVD-ROM with a professionally printed label (silk screen?) & slipcase. I haven't redacted anything - it may be wise for someone to do so... but would these be OK to release and if so, where would I upload them? Personally I'd prefer to torrent them but I'd need the settings for your preferred tracker etc. then maybe someone could mirror them elsewhere later. They are very similar to the materials released in the Acclaim files, containing high res images and videos etc. Perhaps the Gametrak stuff is too interesting to keep to the 0th bit alone though... Perhaps none of this is even 0th bit material, but I didn't want to discuss it in public in case of the unlikely event Assembler members were prohibited from attending future trade shows. OFC with these dumps as £0 was spent acquiring them £0 is being requested as a donation to release them, though they have taken some time to copy and scan etc I may start attending such shows on a more regular basis, if only to grope more booth girls and get more content, but not without getting my disability discount travel card and a chaperone sorted first
Motion capture or motion-based controls? Just asking since there's a huge difference between the two.
Motion-based control capture I guess. The original unit was 100% mechanical. I think it measured the length and angle of the courds as theyw ere pulled and worked out their position accordingly.
