The unique oppertunity has presented itself for me to travel to Hong Kong China some time in august. I am looking to purchase some video games that I wouldnt normally find in America, so I was wondering if it was anything like Japan. Do stores there carry older (NES, Pc Engine, SNES, Saturn) consoles and games? Am I likely to find rare games such as Radiant Silvergun, or Dracula X? Will they be reasonable prices? and finally, if any of you have ever viseted hong kong, do you have any suggestions on where to go to find deals and arcades and such. Thanks in advance!
I've heard the name Sham Shui Po (sp) being thrown around a lot in this context, but I don't know much about it. Lik-sang has a store there, I think.
I`m going next week-end and am planning a meeting with Barry @ Game Choice Club http://gamechoiceclub.com/index.asp Lingjr has also given me the details of some stores in Sham Shui Po which I am in the process of tracking down!
I went to Hong kong 4 years ago (basically a Chinese London ) and found loads of great knock offs as well as latest stuff. Just head on over to Kowloon and check out Sham Shui Po. You'll soon find something nice !! japan is probably easier but they tend to speak English in Hong Kong or at least on the main island. Yakumo
