If it's for newer stuff just walk into the next big electronic store (Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, Sakuraya, etc.), sometimes video/CD rental stores like Tsutaya or whatever they're called in your area also sell new and used games. If you read Japanese, here's a list of shops in Utsunomiya listed under game, toys, anime: http://local.goo.ne.jp/tochigi/search/?LOCD=lo06&BCD=shpl0300&MCD=shpm0315&icd=02700 It's just one week, you'll find all the small stores eventually if you walk around.
HAHAHAHHA, UTSUNOMIYA!!!! HAHAHHAH That is in the Toukaidou line, Kobe-Kyoto! I have stopped in that station dozens of times in Densha de GO! xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
It's in a prefecture north of Ibaraki which is north of tokyo. Me thinks you are thinking of a different place. Slade : You are in the major city in Tochigi, in fact you are 50km north of where I am and if you can't find any shops you aren't looking hard enough, there are plenty of games shops new and second hand there. If you went to Tokyo and didn't find any game shops of any kind then you must be doing something wrong, the two major hubs for you are Ueno, Shinjuku (or Ikebukuro) or Tokyo if you like paying lots to ride the Shinkansen.. Shinjuku has a smatter of games shops plus one of the best arcades ever. I am in a small city in Ibaraki (ironically there is a road not far from me where I can cycle down and change into 3 prefectures (Tochigi, Gunma (sadly the wrong end of Gunma so no illegal street racing...) and Ibaraki), 4 times, in 5 minutes) and I am surrounded by farm land but there are at least 6 places within a short cycle that sell games new and second hand. I am probably going to head up your way next week so drop me a PM and you can buy me a beer and I can show you a few shops that I want to go to.
Well as my job is mainly home based at the moment I have plenty of free time. Although currently most of my job is "Please tell the writer not to copy Wikipedia, change a few words and hope that no one will notice". I plan to pop up later this week or eraly next week so feel free to tell me a day you might have off.
I am still going as there are a number of places I want to check out in utsunomiya, some which are going to be a fair walk away too. I can come around next tuesday as I am not in a rush.
