Update 10/16 More: Spoiler http://imgur.com/a/hvT8l Original post 10/15 The room is still a work in progress. Not everything is unpacked and organized yet. Just cell phone pictures for now, but if I didn't start somewhere, this thread was never going to happen. A few starter pics. More in the gallery, which is here: http://imgur.com/a/9sWzF
Fantastic collection! love that live turns five controller. neat stuff. Oh and of course those 2 360 devkits!
Great looking collection! Setup/display is seriously topnotch. Some awesome pieces you have . Love the alpha XBOX tower.
cool collection i really liked your npdp gamecube and npdp cartridges also your prototype steam box controller so cool
You got some awesome stuff! Loving that display too! I wouldn't keep that Pure White Xbox there though, I would be scared of it yellowing. 0_0
Thanks everyone! The xbox live controllers are some of my favorites too. Thanks! It's kinda awkwardly placed in the middle right now, but I wanted to put it in the case somewhere and I don't have any other Valve stuff worth displaying. The case barely fits in the "game room" but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it. I love it as well, thanks guys! Moontar- I've gone back and forth myself on whether to display it or not. All of the lights in the room and case are LED, and there are no windows for any sunlight to get in... Would it still be better boxed up in the dark? Seems like a shame, but if it looks snes yellow in a couple years, I'll be kicking myself too. What do you guys think?
Niiiiice! Good to see you share your collection, beautifully displayed. The Pure White already looks yellowed anyway, mine is borderline yellow. They all will some day, so I wouldn't worry too much.
This is one of the best setups for dev hardware I've ever seen, I absolutely LOVE all that xbox stuff. I'm so jealous of the two Live controllers and that Alpha tower...
Nice Live is 5ive controller, jealous of the condition, mine was passed around in a COD tournament or something. The Seattle themed Xbox One controller with the 360's as the towers ( My theory on these was the internal announcement of getting the 360 BC working on the One. Why else place 360 consoles on a One controller... The metal tin from Flextronics, looks identical to the UK Xbox Live launch event tins from 14.03.03. Is the Alpha tower a I or II? In regards to your WTB Thread link above in your post, you may want to edit the s out of https.
Also, I am totally jealous of your Live Turns Five controller. Darn things are elusive. Haha Air can cause it also but I wouldn't think it happens as fast. Not sure. Either way I also just keep it in the box because I don't have room to display it. :/
For some reason I always read this in Moxxi's voice from borderlands. The date on this one is 29.11.2001, but the tin is empty. I think OE gave me some info on what disc was originally inside, but I've since lost the email/info. It's an Alpha II, although essentially just the case. I rescued it years ago from an electronics recycler and they had already scrapped most of the internals. I agree about your guess with the Seattle xbox one controller. Backwards compatibility makes the most sense. As Hex said, the pure white xbox has already yellowed somewhat. It was like that when I bought it. If it was pristine, I might be more inclined to baby it. But I'm afraid the damage has been done, and is unavoidable to an extent. As it is, if I need more room in the case, it'll be one of the first things to come out. I got lucky with the Live Turns Five controller, it's been used, but certainly not beat up. I know not everyone is a collector, but it still amazes me how some people abuse their stuff, even if it was a "free" gift from Microsoft.
You are much too modest, but thank you for the kind words! If you keep finding gold at your local shops, I might have to make a road trip out there.
